Final Fantasy XV begins as a truce is declared between Lucis and Niflheim, ending the cold war which has raged over possession of the world's crystals. Upon the day when an official treaty is to be signed, Niflheim invades Lucis and takes the nation's crystal for its own. The invasion forces Noctis and his friends to escape Lucis. Niflheim also launches attacks on Solheim, Tenebrae and Accordo, while Noctis and his group try to defeat Niflheim's forces and retrieve Lucis' crystal. Because of the war, Noctis and Stella, who share some form of connection, are forced to fight each other.

Sorry meant to post this on the 4th June but better late then never eh?
Square Enix Presents has released another Active Time Report for Final Fantasy XV with Tabata-san covering the upcoming changes to the Episode Duscae demo, staff involved, and the differences to Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
Tabata confirmed that much of what we've seen of Versus XIII had been ditched, calling the shift to XV a "reboot" (much like A Realm Reborn - which might I add is very good). The story, for example, has undergone significant changes. "After we had switched from Versus to 15, the first decision we made was to make sure that FFXV would have a complete, coherent story in one game," he said.
With the start of another Tokyo Game Show, Square Enix has released a new trailer with some more ingame footage of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One title.
There is still no release date (as was to be expected) but there has been a change of Directors for it with Hajime Tabata (the director of the original Final Fantasy Type-0) taking over from Tetsuya Nomura who has now moved on to Kingdom Hearts III development.
From an accidental leak it seems we have a release date for the upcoming remake of Final Fantasy Type-0 and not just for Japan but for Europe and North America also!
Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will launch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 20th March in Europe, 19th March in Japan and the 17th March in North America and will include a demo voucher for Final Fantasy XV, Square Enix announced ahead of the Tokyo Game Show in Japan this week.
The demo, dubbed “Episode Duscae,” focuses on the early parts of Final Fantasy XV, with some elements of progression altered in order to make it more suitable for a demo experience.
There was a video but seems to have been taken down (likely by Square Enix) but will try and post one when available.
UPDATE: It has now been officially confirmed by Square Enix with a fancy new trailer for your viewing pleasure:
Even more Final Fantasy XV love, this time with some actual gameplay footage!
As you can see Final Fantasy XV is much more action based like the Kingdom Hearts series. Oh and there is swimming!
As was to be expected, Final Fantasy XV will also be coming out on Microsofts Xbox One.
Square Enix has also opened an official site for it albeit just the logo and the trailer (as featured below). You can visit it now at http://eu.square-enix.com/FFXV/
Remember Final Fantasy Versus XIII for the PlayStation 3? Well it has now officially become Final Fantasy XV for the PlayStation 4 (no details at the time mentioned Xbox One).
